New Terroir Coffee Reviews from Coffee Review

Coffee Review awards 96 points to our Kenya Karogoto !

Here is what Ken Davids, coffeedom's most read reviewer of gourmet coffee, has to say about our current offering: “Floral-toned, intense aroma dominated by the elegantly crisp, dry berry note coffee tasters are fond of calling black currant. In the cup richly acidy. The black currant note softens toward cherry under the influence of a sweet, deeply honeyed richness. The black currant revives in the flavor-saturated finish. Who should drink it: A classicist's cup, forcefully acidy but gracefully sweet and nuanced.” We could not agree more with his description! To see Ken Davids' review click here. $13.95 per 12 ounces. To order here.

Coffee Review awards 93 points to our Daterra South Italian Style Espresso .

Here is what Ken Davids has to say: “In the aroma crisp orange with hints of honey and cedar. In the small cup silky body with a continuing distinct orange note. The honey deepens toward a molasses-toned semi-sweet chocolate. Rich, chocolaty finish. In milk the orange notes complicate a delicate milk chocolate and a superb finish.” Click here for the full review. Currently on sale through August for $10.95 per 12 oz. package. Pedra Preta, 2007 Brazil Cup of Excellence Presidential Award winner, to be roasted this Monday for September Labor Day weekend:

Great Brazils are all about finesse. This is reflected by the unique vocabulary they apply to their best cupping coffees. The finest is called strictly soft , followed by soft, softish, hard , and so on . This Pedra Preta micro-lot is an exemplary strictly soft coffee exhibiting mellow yet firm, clean-fruity acidity in the cup with a wonderfully gossamer floral aroma. Full-bodied, delicate complex notes of hazelnut, fig, melon, orange, vanilla and dark chocolate with a touch of lavender.

Lot#: 3 Guilherme Dias de CastroWhen this jewel micro-lot from Pedra Preta arrived at our roasting plant this April we were blown away. The green coffee had been vacuum packaged in Brazil to preserve its clarity of expression. It arrived to us as if harvested yesterday. What a difference from past Brazil Cup of Excellence coffees! Consumers for the first time can taste a winning Brazil coffee in the same condition as when the jurors awarded this micro-lot the Presidential Award at Cup of Excellence.

This coffee will be specially roasted for Labor Day weekend on this Monday, August 27 . Please call (866) 444-5282 to reserve your order of Pedra Preta. $27.95 for 12 oz.
