Special Coffee to be Roasted this Monday for July 4th: Brazil Cup of Excellence Presidential Award Winner
When this micro-lot arrived at our roasting plant we were blown away. The coffee was packaged in vacuumed airtight bags (as green beans) to preserve its clarity of expression, by Daterra Farm's Luis Pascoal who loaned his equipment and expertise to Cup of Excellence in Brazil. The Pedra Preta arrived to us as if harvested yesterday. What a difference from past Brazil Cup of Excellence coffees! Consumers for the first time can taste this winning Brazil coffee in the same condition as when the jurors awarded this micro-lot the Presidential Award at Cup of Excellence.
Great Brazils are all about finesse. This is reflected by the unique vocabulary they apply to their best cupping coffees. The finest is called strictly soft, followed by soft, softish, hard, and so on. This is an exemplary strictly soft coffee: mellow yet firm clean-fruit acidity in the cup with a wonderfully gossamer aroma. Full-bodied, delicate complex notes of hazelnut, fig, melon, plum, orange, vanilla and dark chocolate with a touch of floral lavender. This coffee will be specially roasted for July 4 on this Monday, June 25. Please call (866) 444-5282 or go online to reserve your order of Pedra Preta. $27.95/12 oz.

Goodbye Mamuto, hello Karogoto, another powerful Kenya and a GREAT iced coffee
The last batch of our by now famous Mamuto, Kenya will be roasted this Monday - and that batch is limited!
In its stead, for those seeking a full powered Kenya, as was the Mamuto, harvested 2006, comes Karogoto, also harvested 2006 and beautifully preserved by our unique cool-temperature storage system. Karogoto is a small farmer cooperative processing center in the Nyeri region at 5,500 feet. This center is one of the best Kenya coffee producers, year after year. We carried it a few years ago and are happy to have it again. The average farm size is half an acre with the largest being only 2 acres. The average number of coffee trees per farm is 250 - each producing, at most, 1 pound of carefully hand-picked coffee per year. This Karogoto has that rare bold powerful blackberry-black currant flavor profile so prized by Kenya coffee aficionados and that marks a only a handful of lots from Kenya each year. It makes great, thirst-quenching berry fruit-laden iced coffee! It will be available next week at $2.00 below the Mamuto price: $13.95/12 oz. Click here to purchase.
Kenya Nguguini, summer special price, for those desiring a mellower, very smooth, elegant Kenya
I am drinking the Nguguini small farmer cooperative coffee as I write this. It is wonderful - packed with blackberry, black currant and a very sweet undertone of blueberry, quite rare! - yet is mellower than the powerhouse Kenyas we usually offer. Summer special discounted price of $11.95/12 oz. Click here to purchase.
Our El Injerto, Guatamala continues on sale through June at $9.95 per 12 oz.
This coffee is the classic Huehuetenango region of Guatemala coffee. El Injerto continues to garner top prizes in every competition it enters, year after year, consistently; it has once again won one of the top ten slots in The Cup of Excellence competition 2007. Sparkling razor fine acidity, deep citrus and berry notes with chocolate. Click here .

Continued - On Sale this month: Baratza Virtuoso Coffee Grinder, for $179.95, normally $199.
A real burr grinder is the gateway to making full-flavored fresh coffee with maximum sweetness. Getting the right uniform grind is critical to producing great coffee - you want to extract all the sweetness while holding back harsher notes due to over-extracted finer particles. The Virtuoso does the best job on the market in this price class and offers a wide selection of grinds to suit your brewer's needs. Click here for more information and to purchase. Time to junk the blade grinder for convenience and accuracy!
We are continuing our new Flat-Rate Program for shipments of 3-7 coffee items, at just $4....! For more than 7 items, just add $1 per bag. This will be calculated automatically, of course, for you on our website when you make an order. Please help us continue this well received program by changing your ship-to address to a commercial address, and help to reduce green-house gases. If you would like us to modify your ship-to address to a commercial one, please e-Mail instructions to jenny@terroircoffee.com or call us at (866) GHH-JAVA.
